Founded by Merissa Manley, the method behind Heart and Soul Method is simple: To feel connected to our body. Body, Breathe, Music, Movement in the physical proven ancient science of yoga asanas, dance movement, and fitness fusion technique. All three modalities in 7 themed core chakra classes will unlock stuck areas in layers of your being to bring about more openness, wisdom, discernment, freedom, rhythm, strength, flow, and balance. It is a way to exercise while moving into better health, to lose weight and sculpt a yoga, dancer body.

Method Design

7 themed Core Chakra Classes to bring your body back into balance so that you can feel more whole. The chakra system areas of the body and their aspects give way to a movement design that helps you to feel more you. Hatha Vinyasa Flow, Dance Movement, and Fitness Fusion Technique modalities in each class allow you to lose weight, find grounding stability, tap into your radiant body, and flow lines of energy in a way that promotes better health. Classes are gently warmed with penetrating heat so that you can sweat out toxins.

Hatha Vinyasa Flow:

  • 45 minutes of sun and moon postures in an energetic yoga vinyasa flow.

  • Most postures or asanas, are held 3-10 breaths.

  • Some postures are flowed through with one breath, one movement.

  • A moving meditation with full Ujjai breaths.

  • Themed music for each unique class.

  • Class ends with 5-10 minutes of shavasana or final relaxation as to reduce inflammation so that your system can process.

  • 5 minutes combined of breath work and meditation.

Dance Movement:

  • 10-15 minutes in the middle of class.

  • Beg/Intermediate sequenced choreography that changes every two months per a class. Each movement goes for at least a few eight counts, usually more, so it’s at a moderate pace.

  • Each class has a different inspired style, music, and dance movement.

  • Dance Movement consists of: dance therapy, Cultural/Americana dance technique, and dance aerobics.

  • We go over some of the harder movements for 5 minutes if necessary. The online classes will have breakdown videos for the dance section.

  • If new to learning dance choreography, focus on foot work first, then work on arms, then detail, and finally style with feeling/mood or vibe of song. Every great dancer extends feeling and subtle emotion into the choreography.

  • Helps to build memory, focus, coordination, the radiant body, creative expression, confidence, empowerment, comradely with fellow practitioners, a light heart, and more joy.

  • When in doubt, just sway to the music and do what you can!

Fitness Fusion Technique:

  • 5-10 minutes through out each class for a little more strengthening, toning, and tightening in harder to reach areas for your tummy, butt, thighs, and arms. More contraction of muscles secrets more protein, endorphins, and other feel good hormones that are dwelling within’ them. This helps us to feel more hope in our daily lives because we get those feel good chemicals moving through out our system.

  • Fitness Fusion Technique is the designed blend of yoga asanas, fitness movements, and aerodynamics to penetrate deep into the muscles with shorter contractions.

  • Some extra sculpting that pairs well with yoga asana.

Heart and Sould Method is 75% Asanas which are the physical postures of Yoga. We incorporate breathwork and moving as well as seated meditation within’ each core chakra class.
